Chemistry

A quick science lesson on bed liner material. Urethanes are formed by the reaction between an isocyanate (A side) and a polyol (B side) and is by far the leader in flexibility, abrasion resistance, and temperature range. Ureas are formed by the reaction between an isocyanate (A side) and an amine (B side) and presents an advantage for hard coatings applied in humid conditions using high-pressure equipment.

Polyurea hybrids are formed similarly using a combination of the two, taking the flexibility and abrasion resistance characteristics of polyurethanes and teaming it with polyurea’s ability to apply in humid conditions.

Hybrid polyurea chemistryis a poly/urea blend designed to bring the best of these two separate components together.

Environmentally Friendly

Polyurea is comprised of 100% solids and does not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or produce flammable vapors. Most importantly of all, Polyurea's application process has a transfer efficiency of 98%. This means that, unlike high pressure systems, almost all of the material that goes through the machine actually ends up where it was was supposed to. Other systems may waste up to ten times that!

Ready to Use

Hybrid polyurea chemistry is dry to the touch in seconds, after which it is ready for light-use immediately and heavy hauling after 24 hours. Don’t waste precious time, get back to business!
